Looking forward
Yesterday evening I was back in Southampton for a meeting of the Focus trustees. The sun was shining as I arrived and driving through the side streets on the way to the meeting I was thinking about how nice it was to be back in town. It would have been even better to call some [...]

A glorious weekend
Tany’s parents came to visit this weekend. So, on Saturday morning, after a hack around a local par-3 golf course, we took a picnic to West Wycombe before heading in the evening to Thame for dinner. Perfect weather, good company and a couple of nice photographs.

An unusually quiet day – no planes
There are two noises that break the peace and quiet of the Wycliffe Centre. One is the distant rumble of the M40 motorway, hidden in a valley on the other side of some trees. The other is aircraft on their final approach into Heathrow, or one of the many private airfields scattered around the surrounding [...]

The last week or so…
…has been manic. Not really in a bad way, although, I think I have reached capacity and could do without anything new and interesting happening over the next week or so just to give me time to work through what’s already taking place. I am in the middle of preparing for preaching on Sunday at [...]

Tuesday night football – a wet evening in Wycombe
Last night I got an evening out with some friends from Southampton and went to see some football. It was a pretty poor state of affairs to be honest. Wycombe’s home ground is shared with London Wasps rugby club, and you could tell by the state of the pitch. When the football hit grass it [...]
