October 2009 and a new logo
You can tell I’m behind on everything. The October 2009 newsletter has just been sent out, and it’s the 11th November!
I have my reasons. There’s an expectation that at some point every new manager of a marketing department will want to stamp his mark on the place. Well, after 9 months of me bringing my own brand of chaos, changes are starting to happen.
Wycliffe have a new logo for the UK, and a new title. We will be using this officially from January, but there’s nothing to stop me from giving you a sneak peek here.
For a while we’ve been struggling to do better at communicating who we are and what we do. The change to putting ‘Bible Translators’ into the logo will hopefully answer those initial questions.
However, this does leave us with a challenge. The reason the organisation had moved away from Bible Translators is because it was limiting applications. People would only want to get involved if they were linguists. However, the we need a whole range of people to make Wycliffe work. The largest number of vacancies on our database is for teachers, but we also need communications professionals, qualified accountants and experienced personnel staff to keep the operation running. Some of these roles are overseas, but there are also lots of opportunities within the UK.
Full information, and the press release from Wycliffe, can be found here.
