Involving young people in mission
I’ve spent a fair amount of time today discussing the problem of involving young people in mission. Maybe I should clarify this a little bit. By young people I’m talking about anyone in their 30s or under, and by involved in mission I’m probably thinking more about encouraging them to become involved in existing mission organisations, rather than the natural networking that takes place amongst younger people.
Despite today’s discussions I’m not sure I’ve come to a radical conclusion to solve this perceived problem. The whole issue deserves more discussion than I’m about to give it in this brief blog post as pizza, my girlfriend and an evening of marriage preparation classes are calling. However, it’s something that is on my mind and I intend to come back to here.
In the meantime, if anyone would like to offer some opinions or suggestions I’d love to hear them.
My suggestion is a pepperoni pizza with extra anchovies. Have a great weekend, Phil.
Once you’ve enjoyed your pizza and your weekend, please let me know if you have any brilliant ideas re the above – I co-ordinate the Wycliffe UK Engage teams, and also I’m ‘Kat’ in N Ireland. Nice to meet you! Be good to be in on the discussion sometime.
And I’m Stephanie in the UK (well i guess including and not including NI)
Indeed more discussion and ideas would be gratefully received…hope the pizza was good and wedding prep was useful.
