The pointlessness of the debates

Last night was the final debate of the series and I can’t tell you how pleased I am that they are over. What a pointless waste of time.

The final debate (if you can really call it a debate) was last night and I managed to watch about half before giving up and turning over to watch football. When a member of the audience asked why government was so out of touch on issues such as immigration we ended up with the three candidates talking about their plans to curb immigration, not to sort out the issue of government being out of touch with the country.

I reckon these debates would have been much better if the audience was allowed to demand an answer to the question, or the moderator was given the chance to question properly. Instead all we got was a well rehearsed show.

  1. yeah – we are getting the show here, I am thinking how polished the who thing looks – media designed and driven “Roll Up, Roll Up”.

Phil I am thinking you are a Dr Who fan – very disappointed with the new Doctor.
