During the course of last year Wycliffe Bible Translators, in the UK, joined forces with Just Cards. This partnership has given people the opportunity to buy high quality, handmade, greetings cards at a reasonable price, while also donating 10% of the sale price to a chosen charity – hopefully Wycliffe UK.

This morning I opened a thank you e-mail from them that shared what Just Cards had been able to do through 2009.

THANK YOU to all our supporters for who have helped us to make a difference in Africa in 2009! You have helped to support around 100 individuals and their families through providing sustainable employment in Rwanda, Kibera Slum in Kenya and Mamelodi Township in South Africa. Each project produces excellent quality cards, as well as providing social and emotional support for the employees.

Thank you also to those who have contributed to our Christmas gifts – we have been able to send Christmas food parcels to Kenya and South Africa, as well as goats, mosquito nets and nursery materials.

Finally, please continue to remember the various projects – each has their own struggles and challenges, particularly in places of spiralling costs, illness, trauma, and limited resources – but we are thrilled to see so much growth and many lives changed in 2009!
