The annoyance of high blood pressure

I have high blood pressure and it’s really annoying – which is quite an understatement.

I’ve always been borderline for high blood pressure. It was something I was managing myself with exercise when I was living back in Southampton. Problem is, since I’ve moved I’ve done almost nothing in the way of exercise and my one and a half mile walk to and from work has gone down to forty metres or so. Oh, I’m also in the middle of planning a wedding and in the last month I’ve moved house and started a new job, which I say would put anyone’s blood pressure up. Anyway, it now turns out I now need to go with a letter from the doctor to register to use the gym so that I can get my BP back to a more normal level. Grrrrr!

So today I’m drinking green tea, rather than coffee. I’ll be having salad for lunch and the meal I’m being taken out for this evening will be as healthy as I can make it. Next week I’ll be drinking more green tea and eating more salad and at some point I’ll get my gym membership so that I can actually do something about reducing my blood pressure.
