It should have been an ordinary Tuesday, but in many ways it was so much more.
It started with Dave Pearson being interviewed on UCB Radio about lost languages and how many people groups can actually lose the ability to communicate fully when their language dies. Then Centre Fellowship (also known as Tuesday Fellowship on this blog) was introducing people who are involved in Scripture Use (SU). SU goes alongside translation work and broadly covers everything from teaching people how to read and write, to finding the most appropriate form of communicating the Bible (either audio, video or printed material).
The afternoon kind of went on a bit because I was tired. I’d woken up slightly early because I was on welcome duty for some guests we were expecting at 6:30am. They didn’t arrive then, but I half expected them to and that was enough to stop me sleeping properly.
Then I rushed off to try to get a swim in before this evening’s football. Problem is the Wycombe Sports Centre pool is not open to the public on Tuesday evenings. Slightly annoying when you’re taking every opportunity possible to improve your health. So I got home and changed and went for a quick run between the showers. Not very far, but 30 minutes is probably better than nothing. I’m now starting to reconsider my large membership fee with the gym. If there was an alternative I’d be very tempted.
And that gets me to tonight. The mighty Liverpool took care of Real Madrid and are through to the 1/4 finals (I think) of the Champions League.
I think I’ll watch one episode of the West Wing and then get to bed a very happy man.
Night everyone.
