Today I was on my own in the office. My colleagues in the office have gone down with bugs and are off work so Ih’m trying to hold fort.
To be honest it was quite a challenging day. I’ve been putting together a presentation for Sunday when there’s a tea at church for me to talk about what I am doing with Wycliffe. One of the statistics I’ve been looking at is the fact that there are still 2,363 (number from memory may be slightly incorrect) languages that are probably in need of Bible translation, covering 200 million people. While I was reading this I just became very aware of how much still needs to be done.
At the same time I was reading this I also saw the news of David Cameron’s son dying and the plane crash in Amsterdam.
The day did pick up. The presentation is mostly finished, I had good news that a couple of press releases were picked up by different publications and I started getting towards a coherant strategey. It’s just lots of things seemed quite tough for a while.
While I think of it, I’ll be at Above Bar Church in Southampton on Sunday evening from 5pm, talking about what I’m doing with Wycliffe. The entrance is in Ogle Road, it would be good to see you there.
