Sunday, coming down after the night before

Saturday night was superb, but I clearly am not so well equipped for late nights anymore. This morning was a struggle, for both Tany and I; and when we are both tired we get grumpy with each other. We’re learning to be careful with what we say to each other when we are tired.

She was leading the service at church this evening, so she spent the afternoon preparing while I tried to sleep a bit.

My plan for tonight was to go to a monthly event held at Verwood Methodist Church. It’s called Live Out Loud and it’s something that my friend Andy helps out with. I had been saying for months that I would go, but tonight had turned out to be the last chance for me to make good on my promise. Anyway, just before 6pm I got a call from Tany, saying that I had been put in as part of the prayer focus at church and Paul was wondering if I could be there to say something about what I was about to go and do with Wycliffe. Typical, too good an opportunity to miss but annoying timing.

To cut what could be a long story slightly shorter, I went along for the first 20 minutes of the service to do a quick overview of the role I’m about to take up with Wycliffe and then ran off to join Andy in Verwood for their meeting. I’m not sure that I was that clear with what I said, but I did have some copies of my newsletter to give out, so hopefully that will give people a better idea. [You can sign up for future copies of this in the e-mail box on the right-hand side of this page.]

I have tomorrow off. I’m using the day to pack, spend time with Tany, and hopefully write something for this website about the plans for the next month or so.
