Prayer for today

Today (Wednesday) our church held a day of prayer. The building was open from 7am to 10pm with the auditorium set out in little sections for people to pray in different ways. It may be looking at a map and praying around the world, it may be writing prayers down, it may be reading the prayers of others… it’s all good stuff. I didn’t go. Midweek isn’t good, and maybe I could have avoided the pub and met Gregg another time, but it takes so long to arrange to get together that in my mind it was a priority.

So for tonight here are my prayers…

My family
Ashley and his girlfriend (see the previous post and you’ll know why).
The friends, family and attackers of those who have been stabbed in the UK recently.
China
BurmaIraq and the Middle-East in general.
My work colleagues.
My friends
My church, and those churches listed on the blog.
The American Presidential election, especially Barak Obama. If he really desires to do everything he (and John Edwards) says, I pray he wins and is able to.
My government, and those recently elected.

There’s so much detail that could be added. I’ve just watched John Edwards speech in support for Obama, and now Sky News is showing the many people in China who are seeing their loved ones being pulled from rubble. Some surviving, but in so many cases it’s family members identifying bodies.

  1. The elections…please pray over that. We are scared stiff if Obama makes it.

But GOD is in charge of history.

  2. Mike, I don’t know if you’ll read this but why are you scared stiff if Obama makes it? I been casually keeping up with what’s going on, I though he was the preferred preference? Have I missed something vital that he’s said?
